1.       President (Jennifer Obiedzinski) 

·       Next Month (Feb) – Jen will put together a powerpoint presentation to go over the budget with membership prior to the board budget meeting in April.

·       Kasey was re-elected at the president of the board; we have not yet been assigned a BOE rep. We will hopefully know next meeting. She would like us to know that sign ups are available for the MLK event on Jan 19th where they will go over the poster and essay contest.

2.       Board of Ed Rep (tbd)

·       Not present. Updates sent to Jenn above.

3.       Principal (Michelle Fanning)

·       Oak View won Forensics contest.

·       Kicked off the Robotics club – competition in May.

·       Battle of the books and Challenge 24 open to 5^th and 6^th graders. They will get information at school.

·       One Book coming up 2/17-2/26 (clues will come out during these dates). 2/27 – title revealed. One Book is a district wide event where all students and families are encouraged to read the same book over the same timeline. The event will be celebrated at the end of the reading period at the end of March. Date tbd.

4.       Teacher Representative (Mrs. Ritacco)   

·       No updates; teachers always send a thank you for all the efforts and treats provided. Field trips have been booked.

5.       Vice President (Krystal Yip)    

·       Any committee questions, ask Krystal.

6.       Treasurers (Mona Kaur & Aileen Kakol)

·       No updates. Books and budgets available for viewing.

7.       Recording Secretary (Kimberly Jaumot)

·       No updates.

8.       Corresponding Secretary (Courtney Crespo)   

·       Holiday parties were a success and the kids had fun. February 13^th is the Valentine’s class party. Info will get emailed to class parents soon.

9.       Committee Updates:    

·       Basketball

o   Kick off on 1/10 – taking turns hosting between Oak View and Demarest. Each school will help cover and work the games so labor is dispersed among schools. Uniforms and clinic t-shirts in and will be delivered to kids at the pep rally at the latest.

o   Pep Rally on Friday (1/9) at 2:30. All the kids get to go into the gym to cheer everyone on in school.

·       Calendar Raffle

o   On-going all month. Winners to be announced every Monday.

·       FUNraising

o   Chipotle & Bacarosa – Chipotle we made some $ but Bacarosa did not perform well.

o   Anthony’s Cheesecake – did well in terms of $ raised.

·       Spirit Wear 

o   Stay tuned for basketball spirit wear.

·       Winter Social

o   February 6^th.

o   Snow ball Jamboree with little activities around the room. Stay tuned for email for sign ups to help volunteer!

·       6th Grade / Yearbook

o   No updates

·       Book Fair

o   Feb 23-26

·       Read-a-thon

o   Stay tuned for updates. Likely will run like last year except for folder collection days. Will run for the month of February from 2/2-2/23.
