- Budget Season
- We have completed district level meetings for budget requests for the 2024-2025 Budget.
- A calendar for the public events will be made available via the district website in the near future.
- BHS
- Congratulations to all BHS seniors who are starting to receive their acceptance notifications to colleges and universities.
- Please check all social media outlets for additional scholarship information for high school seniors.
- Other Information
- January is Board of Education recognition month. We thank all of our volunteer board members for providing the best possible education for our Bloomfield students.
- Over the holiday break, construction projects were ongoing by contractors at the schools below:
- ECC –installed 2 roof curbs on top of the gym and 4 exhaust fans in the corridor.
- Carteret –installed the rooftop unit on the concrete pad outside of MPR.
- Watsessing –25 new windows were installed in certain classrooms on the second floor.
- Watsessing –Roof repairs completed.

- All of the above meetings of the Board of Education will be held at 6:30 PM in the Conference Room of the Administration Building, 155 Broad Street, Bloomfield, New Jersey. The regular meetings shall begin at 6:30 PM, at which time the Board will hold a closed executive session, and public session will begin at 7:30 PM, Members of the public should refer to all published meeting agendas as the Board may change the sequencing of executive/closed session based on need. The purpose of regular meetings of the Board of Education is to consider, discuss and act upon educational, business and personnel matters and action will be taken at such regular meetings.

- Highlights of Principal Lo’s day:
- Daily Morning Announcements: Students are learning about monumental days in U.S. history and celebrating holidays throughout the month!
- Teaching and Learning: Students continue engaging in rigorous learning environments beyond the classroom.
- A special recognition of our 6th Grade Oak View Tiger, Frankie Jo Summa, who competed against 15 other district students to secure one of only Five spots on the Bloomfield JV Forensics team! Thank you, Ms. Rennie, for leading this effort!
- Special recognition goes to OV’s DEI committee for organizing the MLK Week of Service at Oak View, January 8th - 12th, 2024
- Weekly Safety Team meetings continue to support our community's safety and well-being.
- We are preparing for “Riding a Bike to School” education and installing the bike rack- coming March 2024!
- Monthly Cafecito Chats with families will resume this month- looking forward to coffee and great conversations!
