- Garden Committee Proposal (Jen Ingle):
- I would like to put forth a proposal to request $500 from the HSA surplus funds from the 2024-2025 school year, which would increase the Giving Garden budget for the 2025-2026 school year from $500 to $1000. The following repairs are recommended: 1) repairing or replacing aging/damaged garden beds and 2) either replacing or sanding and sealing the fence. The cost of those repairs is variable depending on the decisions made by the 2025-2026 committee. Based on the repairs made this year, it would cost a rough estimate of $400 to replace two large garden beds and $100 to sand and seal the fence. Based on Giving Garden expenditures from the past few years, routine planting costs about $200-$300, projects cost about $50-$100, and general supplies needed for regular maintenance cost about $50-$100. Overall, it’s estimated that $500 would be needed for the regular planting and garden projects with the students and $500 would be needed for repairs. Thank you for considering this proposal!
- Discussion of garden maintenance, volunteer sign-ups and volunteer recruitment. Discussion of Back-to-School Night presentation.
- 8 yays, 0 nays, the proposal passed.
- Welcome and best wishes to the new board!
