- The Bloomfield School district once again participated in Sandy Hook Promise’s Start With Hello Week. Thank you to all the parent volunteers who chalked our buildings with positive messages and staff & students who participated in the week’s positive SEL events.
- All Bloomfield Schools will be participating in the National Week of Respect from 10/7-10/11. Check your school’s social media for activities planned for this particular week.

- Halloween Parties to be held on Halloween immediately following the school halloween parade. Class parents, please bring your supplies to the parade, and then head directly to the office through the front entrance to receive your visitor pass. If you plan to take your child home with you as you leave the party, please let teachers know ahead of time.
- The form to pick up your child for lunch/costume change will be going home in the coming weeks, you can indicate as well if you would like your child to leave with you after the party.
- Updated nurse/district approved snack list was sent out. All snacks need to be in original containers. All snacks need to list the nutritional facts, INCLUDING carbohydrate content listed either on the original box or individual package.

- Pumpkin Patch
- Scheduled for October 29th (rain date October 30th).
- Order for pumpkins are in! Snacks will be Oreos and apple cider.
- Huge thanks to Property Services Landscaping, Inc. In Bloomfield for getting us the best price on pumpkins, and Stew Leonard's of Clifton for donating corn stalks and hay bales for our decoration and class photo background!
- This is an in-school event, one class at a time. Volunteers are needed from 7am-8am to unload pumpkins and set up. Volunteers are also needed all day to help students with craft, serve snacks, and pumpkin picking, please reach out to Emily!
- Question about photos and photo release. Discussion or how best to get photos to teachers. This item is still open.
- Fall Social (Trunk or Treat)
- October 18th! 23 cars are signed up to decorate!
- Ticket sales close on Sunday evening (10/13). Wristbands to go home on Wednesday (10/16).
- Please wear your wristband to the event!
- Fall Fundraiser (Color Run)
- Sign-up forms and information went home in backpacks.
- $30/child to participate. Parents do not have to register to be present.
- Cash/check donations need to be in by October 22nd.
- Extra color can be purchased at the event.
- Basketball Wizards Night
- Sign ups will be coming home soon for 3rd grade - 6th grade. Sign-up fees go towards funding the program all season.
- 3rd Grade - clinic only, no games (includes t-shirt). Practices 1x/week; schedule TBD.
- 4th-6th play competitively against other elementary schools in district.
- Practices will start mid-November, schedule TBC (4:30pm-7 start times). Practices are 2x/week. Games take place early January - March. Schedule TBD, Friday nights and Saturdays.
- Uniforms can be reused.
- Coaches meeting to be announced soon.
- Wizards Night:
- Helps pay for the cost of operating the season for all 8 elementary schools.
- Rescheduled for Thursday, December 5th at BHS.
- Tickets to go on sale around October 28th.
- After School Explorers
- Classes start 11/11, ends 12/20 (no classes over Thanksgiving).
- There will be 8 classes this year (Yoga [K-3], Dungeons & Dragons [4-6], Minds in Motion [1-4], Magic [1-4], Chef it Up in 2 sessions [K-3, 4-6], Lovelee Art [K-2], Pencil Works [3-6]).
- Different classes will be for different grades. Please stay tuned for more info and signups.
- All classes have limited space!
- Volunteers needed! If you volunteer, your child will be guaranteed a spot.
- Aftercare students and basketball students can participate!
