Oak View HSA Meeting Minutes: October

No November or April meetings; all other
meetings for the remainder of the year will be held on the 1st of
the month; location TBD.

Board of Ed Rep (Kasey Dudley)
· Kasey was unable to attend but sent message read by Jennifer Obiedzinski.
·
No district wide updates.
·
Thank you and congrats to the HSA for: heritage
assembly, week of respect, and kicking of after school explorers.
·
Oct 13th is off from school in
observance of Columbus Day
·
Nov 4th is election day including for
BOE elections

Principal (Michelle Fanning)
·
Kicked off Safety Patrols this week. Gifted and
Talented will begin in 2 weeks. Backstop will start soon as well.
·
Biggest turnout to Breakfast yet! ($1.50)
·
LinkIT – access to benchmark testing online for
parents.

Budget report was passed out during the meeting
for review. The budget book was available as well

Aileen does reimbursements. Thanks to those who
do give deposits along with the forms. Find deposit forms under finance forms
link on the HAS website or you can find these in the treasurer box in the
school office.

support. All meetings are recorded.

Class parties are coming up. Class parents should
refer to snack list sent out or available on the HSA website.

Committee Updates:

Membership
o Raffle
for Parking Spot. 138 members signed up. Amy drew raffle at random and The Jaumot
family won the spot.
·
FUN-raising
o Parent’s
Night Out was a success.
o Chipotle
was also a success.
o Upcoming
fun-raiser at Pizzeria UNO. Date is TBD.
·
Spirit Wear
o Orders
will be open online until June.
o Expect
a 2-3 week turn around from order to delivery to your child at school.
·
After School Explorers
o Began
today – runs through 11/14
o Great
turnout – 11 classes that were sold out or mostly filled.
o Now
a fund raiser for the HSA as opposed to zero profit.
·
Fall Social (Trunk or Treat)
o 26
cars signed up – the biggest year yet! Each car will get 400 pieces of a candy/snack
item. Donate as able extras as cars
often run out of the items. You can load them onto the cart upon arriving at
the event.
o Enter
through the Parent Parking Lot this year.
o 7pm-7:15pm
sensory friendly hour. Loud music and lights will begin at 7:15.
o Wrist
bands will go home with your oldest child next week.

Fall Fundraiser
o Calendar
Raffle will go home in Nov.
o Kick
off for the winners will begin in Jan.

6th Grade Graduation fundraisers
o Going
well - had a successful car wash and 2 ice cream fundraisers!

Yearbook
o No
updates.

New Business
o Mrs.
Fanning: Request for gym equipment for recess from Mrs. Fanning and Mr.
Rosetti. They are requesting $680.
o Upon
voting: 21 yes and 0 opposed.
o Parent
suggestions included a sports equipment collection from the community.
§ Cammie
Bryan volunteered to lead this by sending out a flyer with a call to action and
setting up the collection bin. We can then sort through the items and give the
school what they want and donate the rest.
§ Items
in need include chalk, kickballs, basketballs, soccer balls. NO small, hard
balls (No tennis balls, no baseballs, no golf balls, etc.)
