·       Welcome back and welcome to new parents!

·       Overview of HSA responsibilities; not an advocacy group; main focus on fundraising for school events, assemblies, socials, basketball program, and other extras that do not fall into the school budget.

·       Volunteers are the heart and soul of the organization.

·       Come to our Parent Social on Wednesday, 9/24 at 7pm

2.       Board of Ed Rep (Kasey Dudley)

·       Kindergarten playdates were great

·       Maintenance going on in all the schools

·       Principal and HAS leadership first line of school contact. District level can go to BOE rep for answers.

3.       Principal (Michelle Fanning)

·       Welcome back to school

·       Safety: No double parking near the crosswalks

·       Chromebook insurance available

·       Back to School night is 10/18

·       Thanks for the treats from the HSA

·       Breakfast available for morning – 8:00am for $1.50

4.       Teacher Representative (Mrs. Ritacco)

·       Thanks for the snacks!

·       School snack time is TBD for many classes as they settle into the school year

5.       Vice President (Krystal Yip)    

·       Chairperson vacancies (still looking for Giving Garden chair)

·       Committee assignment notifications have been given  

·       Q&A on "how to sign up for committees" – can look to website for chairs for inquires on how to help!

9.       Committee Updates:    

·       Membership – all committee chairs and class parents need to be a member! Everyone is encouraged. All proceeds go back to the school

·       FUNraising – first dine to donate will be the Parent Social on 9/24 followed by Chipotle.

·       Fall fundraising: Calendar Raffle – will be on sale Nov/Dec and drawing will start on January.

·       Spirit Wear – will be available for sale on the website!

·       Fall Social (Trunk or Treat) – fun event to celebrate Halloween. Come decorate your cars and pumpkins. Tickets will become available at the school store.

·       6th Grade Graduation fundraisers (car wash in Sept) – come support the 6^th grade – first one on 9/20 – car wash at Oak View.

·       After School Explorers – after school enrichment coming soon for fall session. Oct 8^th-Nov 14^th (skipping over the first week in Nov). 2 sessions – 1 in the fall and 1 in the winter.

·       Yearbook – committee chairs starting to work on this and will ask 6^th grade parents to share photos with at least 2 children in it for yearbook entry.

·       New Business

o   Read-a-thon will be major fundraiser this year.
