- The November Meeting Minutes were voted in.

- District News
- Thank you to all Bloomfield Schools HSA Organizations for the various drives and donations during this holiday season. The Board of Education greatly appreciates your hard work and devotion.
- Bloomfield High School is hosting an 8th-grade orientation on December 4th. This is an open house for parents and students to tour the School and learn about the various programs and activities offered.
- December 6th-12 is National Computer Science Week. Bloomfield students will continue to be exposed to career paths in this field with age-appropriate activities.
- Many schools are hosting on-site book fairs. This is a great opportunity to do holiday shopping and support your local school.
- Thursday 12/6 HSA is sponsoring the 2nd annual Harlem Wizards basketball game 6 pm at BHS school Gymnasium.
- BHS/BMS
- Thank you Hot Bagels Abroad for including our fine arts students in their annual tree lighting ceremony.
- Kudos to Bloomfield Middle School for another successful Turkey Shootout. This is an annual event enjoyed by all. Be sure to look back at our various social media platforms for some great pictures of this fun event.
- Congratulations to everyone involved in the 2024 BHS Fall Play! Kudos to Mr. Brandon Doemling and Supervisor of Fine Arts, Michele Lampert, for yet another successful high school production.
- Thank you to all who supported the annual Bloomfield Kiwanis Club Thanksgiving Dinner. Many families benefited due to the generosity of the Blomfield community.
- Bloomfield Schools collectively observed Veterans Day in early November, engaging in a variety of activities, lesons, and projects across the district.
- “Bengal Talks” are once again taking place at BHS. This is where BHS alumni come back to speak to current students about specific professions. Check social media for information if you are interested.
- The Black Student Union recently attended the Malcolm Bernard HBCU College Fair at Kean University, showcasing over 40 Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Students explored the academic requirements for each institution and gained insights into campus life and culture. Impressively, the vent resulted in 20-30 instant decision acceptances for our students!
- Superintendent Goncalves and Athletic Director, Steve Jenkins continued the tradition of hosting the FalSports Captain’s Breakfast.
- Bloomfield Winter Concert season is here. Please check the school websites for information on attending.
- Elementary Schools
- The trimester is ending (December 6th)/report cards to follow on December 13th
- Thank you to EVERYONE involved in making the Harlem Wizards night such a gigantic success.
- Berkeley
- Berkeley hosted Veteran's Day for family Veterans. After the program ended the Veterans were scheduled to attend classes to share their stories
- Brookdale:
- Third grade visited the Crane House and learned about life in the 1800s.
- Carteret
- Teachers from the ECC toured kindergarten classrooms to assist in the placement of their Pre-K students for the 2025-2026 school year.
- Demarest:
- K-Kids made Thanksgiving placemats for local senior citizens.
- ECC:
- The ECC celebrated Substitute Teacher Appreciation Day by recognizing the invaluable contributions of substitute teachers, who play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of education for our student
- Fairview
- The HSA purchased 50 daffodils to plant in the front of the school. Over the course of 2 days, all students were able to plant a bulb.
- Oak View:
- The Home and School Association provided staff with a festive Thanksgiving Breakfast in the staff lounge this week
- Watsessing:
- Congratulations is in order for the first set of Watsessing C.A.R.E.S. students this month as part of our initiative to create a kind and inclusive culture at our school. Watsessing C.A.R.E.S. stands for Cooperate, Act Responsibly, Respect Everyone, Empower Each Other, and Safeguard Our School.

- Thank You: A heartfelt thank you to the HSA for the beautiful Thanksgiving breakfast and to all the families who volunteer daily to lead various activities throughout our school. Your efforts make our school community shine!
- Retirement News: Join me in celebrating Mrs. D’Avanzo for 38 years of dedicated service to Bloomfield Public Schools—she will be truly missed! Special thanks to Mrs. Benech and Mrs. Sturt for their support and collaboration over the years.
- Safety: Let’s support Ms. Pattie, our crossing guard, by following traffic rules and avoiding double parking, U-turns, and speeding. Together, we ensure our students' safety. Thank you!
- Backstop Program: The Backstop program Session 1 will end on December 13th and will be followed by Session 2 for grades 3-6, starting on January 13 through February 28th.
- Caught with Character Program: Congratulations to all our Tigers who were nominated by their teachers and peers for exemplifying respect throughout the month of November! We look forward to honoring our Tigers with a special bagel breakfast celebration!

- Committee Updates:
- Basketball
- Basketball practices are underway. Games start 1/4. Look out for game schedules coming out.
- Wizards Night: Proceeds benefit all elementary schools to run their basketball programs. Doors open at 6pm, game is a 7pm.
- Pep Rally is on 1/3 during school hours. Students enrolled in basketball program (including clinic students) wear jerseys to school for the pep rally. Reminders will be sent home.
- Holiday Shop
- Friday, December 13th. Please send your child in with money (labeled in a ziploc bag, preferable), a list, and a reusable bag!
- Postscript: We would like to thank all of the parents that volunteered their time at the Holiday Shop! We can’t make these events happen without you! We hope all students had a wonderful time
