- A motion was brought to the floor to vote the December meeting minutes in. The vote was passed and the January meeting began.
- Principal (Mrs. DiTrani)
- New BOE members were sworn in last night and we have not been assigned a BOE rep.
- Teachers and Mrs. DiTrani have been encouraging "old school" games like kickball, basketball, and switching off on the playground at recess to help students with conflict.
- Forensic tournament: Eloise Wilson and Madeline Cole going on to compete in Essex County finals. Congratulations and good luck!
- Thanks to parents for expressing so much generosity during the fall and winter drives.
- Congratulations to Teachers of the Year: Daria Sisco and Nicole Perry (nominated and voted on by staff).
- Winter concert was wonderful! Thank you for coming to show support for students!
- K-Kids will be holding a coat drive this month (coats, mittens, hats, scarves, gently used)
- Safety patrol students and teachers are at the gate/back door until the late bell (8:35am). If you/students arrive after the late bell, please go to the front door. For security reasons, we only use certain doors.
- Any issues or concerns, please reach out.
- Question about limited After Care designated areas during basketball season. Mrs. DiTrani suggested reaching out to the YMCA after care program to see if added spaces can be accomodated.

- This is opening weekend. Games start this Saturday, continue every Saturday. Schedule is being distributed.
- Games are open to all this year
- Rules and Codes of Conduct sent to coaches. Request to please remind parents of the code of Conduct.

- Pep Rally this Friday
- All players should wear sneakers and uniform/clinic shirt
- Winter Social (Jenn Obiedzinski)
- Friday, February 3rd evening in the gym
- Details to follow, but it will be a hot cocoa social with a DJ, light refreshments, snowman building, etc.
- Library/Book Fair (Kristen Sturt)
- Date: 2/28-3/3 in the school library (Read Across America week)
- Students should bring their own bags.
- Details about wishlists and e-wallet (and e-wallet transfers) will be sent home.
- Chairs to ask about cash donations to teachers
- Scholastic is now considered a retailer instead of a wholesaler, and sales tax will be applied to each sale. Communication will be sent out to student body about this prior to the book fair.
- There will not be a parent night this year. Chairs will look into distribution of teacher wishlists/cash donations to teachers.

- Waiting for pricing for possible playhouse on blacktop, new tables in grass area, and interactive playwall for playground
- Discussed damaged xylophone; maintenance to remove sharp elements until new piece is installed.
- Giving Garden (Maya)
- Thank you to Maya and her family for fixing the damaged fence from the wind!
- Fence still needs to be reinforced/secured.
- FUNRaising (Cammie Bryant)
- Anthony's fundraiser made about $300.
- Upcoming fundraisers include Wingstop and The Brookdale.
- Enrichment (Krystal)
- Next assembly 2/8 African hip-hop and drum assembly

- Volunteers still needed for 1st, 3rd, 5th class acts. Postscript: these opeings have been filled--thank you!

- All class parents have been contacted about grade contributions.
