Meeting minutes
- Principal (Mrs. DiTrani)
- Teacher updates:
- Our art teacher, Mrs. G. will be at Oak View 3 days/week this year
- One of the district elementary music teachers resigned over the summer, to be replaced ASAP
- New teacher introduction, welcome to Maria Peneda
- Teachers do not check email during the day; please call the office if there is a message you need to get to your child’s teacher
- 9/29 Back to School night, adults only (no students)
- There will be 2 presentations by teachers to accommodate parents/caregivers with multiple students
- Safety is at the forefront
- Parents should expect new protocol for entry into the building starting in October.
- School grounds
- Playground: There has been repeated vandalism to playground climbing equipment; district facilities department will be installing new camera on playground equipment
- New flag has been received, flagpole will be painted asap
- Bike rack
- 5th graders have started petitioning for a bike rack
- MDT looking into grants to get a bike rack and looking into location and number of bikes to be locked
- We discussed the Health & Wellness getting involved if grants and/or BOE fall through
- Info about Start Strong testing will be sent out
- School pictures on 10/24
- Shop Rite forms going home; please drop off originals only to Shop Rite Customer Service desk

- District received Covid money from the federal government. Upgrades to schools include:
- HVAC is on its way to all our schools.
- New windows
- Landscape updates
- Lunch applications can be found in district website or at administration building
- Registration is at administration building from 8am-4pm
- Administration building moved to155 Broad Street
- Strategic plan is available on the district website
- Tailgate for Bengals football on 9/30 from 4:30-5:30 Bengals football; alumni are invited. Details on district website

- $2k from HSA going towards yearbook/t-shirt/sweatshirt
- Yearbook Committee needs as many pictures as possible (Group pictures, event photos, on school grounds)

- Discussion followed describing the budget. If a chair wanted to propose an event to be free, it will need to be voted on.

- If there is a need, let MDT know and she will let board know, completely anonymous
